The Porter Prize (sponsored by Hitotsubashi Business School) was established in 2001 with the cooperation of Professor Michael Porter, an authority in business administration known as a pioneer in the field of competitive strategy theory, and has been awarded to leading companies in various industries. The award recognizes Japanese companies and businesses that have achieved and maintained high profitability in their industries through innovation in products, processes, and management skills, and through the implementation of unique strategies based on these innovations.
